Deadline for registration

January 2009
Teacher training workshop, H.R. MacMillan Space Centre 10 am to 2pm (lunch provided).
February - April 2009
Core of Marsville program in classrooms occurs (Mars research, mission patch contest, designing and constructing life-support systems).
February 2009
Deadline for mission patch contest
Early April 2009
Begin consultation and design work on the habitats (between assigned classes)
Early May 2009
Vancouver Link-Up (@ UBC)


The goals of Marsville are to:

  • teach math, science, technology, engineering and communications concepts
  • demonstrate problem-solving using a cooperative model
  • expose students to the complex scientific, technological, socio-political, environmental, and cultural issues surrounding space exploration
  • arouse students' interest in pursuing careers in the sciences, communications and technology
